  • The dials are correctly installed and power cycle but i get a message "VU Server failed to start. Access to serial port denied. VU Server already running?"
    Assuming you don't have another instance of the server software running, this could be caused by another application that is scanning COM ports and effectively blocking the VU1 server from being able to communicate with the HUB.  If you have another device installed on your system with some control software (even something like RBG lighting), the best way to determine if that is the cause of the problem is to disable it and try again. Below is a list of software that is known to cause this issue

  • Are there plans to develop and improve the demo app functionality?
    Calling it a demo app was a decision based on our long-term vision for the VU1. Rather than build a walled garden, forcing customers to use our proprietary application, we wanted the VU1 to be open to everyone. This would allow the Vu1 to be used in scenarios far beyond our limited imagination and, more importantly, be utilised by all other apps for any purpose. Continuing to develop the demo app would run contrary to that vision as it is only intended as a stop-gap measure until 3rd party apps incorporate native support. In the near future, we expect that as VU1 adoption grows, the demo app will be redundant.
